Q: If you are an animal, what would you be?
I would be a hamster. They are way too cute and I think I am kinda similar to them. I like to hoard food in my room and having food makes me feel safe. I also enjoy sleeping as they do.

Seneca Division Updates #1

Hello Seneca Division!

(Left: Coehl, my predecessor and current EA!   Right: Me!)

LTG INTRODUCTION

Hi everyone, I'm Yuan Shang, the LTG of the Seneca Division for this service year! I am currently a junior at the University of Rochester, studying Brain and Cognitive Science as well as Public Health. It's my third year in CKI now, because I love the people and the vision very much and I think I can be a better person by being a Circle k'er. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone soon and see you in real person once quarantine ends! Feel free to contact me anytime, and I will get back to you ASAP. I am here for you!
( p.s. I am so glad that my predecessor, Coehl Gleckner, becomes the EA of New York District. With his close assistance and support, I believe our division can grow and develop to another level.)
After being in the quarantine for several weeks, I feel much more settled down as I found my new routine and indoor hobbies. Humans are more adaptive and creative than they thought. Same as many people, I will have my finals in the following weeks. After that, we are done with school work!
My Vision as an LTG

For this service year, my aim is to "empower through mindful conversations." Below you'll find parts of what my vision for our year is all about.

  • To be supportive for club officers by 1-on-1, councils, workshops, and online resources hub;
  • To increase service hours and membership by sharing service opportunities and ideas with online spreadsheets;
  • To facilitate interclub communications by regular club officers councils and fun divisional;
  • To establish closer K Family relationships by collaborations on services and fellowship events.

* Here is where we get to know each other! I will share my fun facts and some interesting stuff. I will also ask questions for you guys so feel free to email me your answer! *

Q: How are you coping with quarantine?
I've started to write bullet journals since my freshman year. After we have to stay home to slow down the spread of COVID-19, planning your day ahead of time and recording highlight moments of the day and weeks helps me to stay on track. Having a "Monthly Habit Tracker" module also helps me to get up and sleep around regular time, eat fruits and veggies, drink water, and workout. Also, I usually do a 5-10 min meditation/morning yoga to start my day. What's more, communicating with others, such as having CKI meetings LOL, helps me to stay energized.
