Maggie's Munchies
October has been a pretty crazy month for me with midterms and other work. I haven't actually had any time this month to get or make any munchies. At times like this, I miss being able to move around Manhattan and go and eat anything I want. I think what I miss most of all is Korean food and Thai food, because I don't live near any places that sell those.

What's a type of food you really miss eating?

Don't hesitate to message me if you have any questions, need any help, or just want someone to talk to!

Maggie Cheuk

September has been really crazy for a lot of us, me included! But one of the highlights of my month was that I celebrated my 21st birthday! It was on a Wednesday and I have Wednesday off so I got to relax and make the most of the day. I had a really great day and ended it with a cheesecake at home (cheesecake is my FAVORITE ever)!

What's your favorite cake flavor?

Don't hesitate to message me if you have any questions, need any help, or just want someone to talk to!

I've been ordering takeout a lot more recently because while it's fun to cook new things at home, sometimes you just can't beat the food from your favorite restaurants. Recently, I've been getting banh mi, which is a Vietnamese baguette sandwich and they are SO delicious!

I ate my banh mi before I remembered to take a picture of it but my friend drew the ingredients of a banh mi and it makes me hungry just looking at it! Let me know if you guys want to know where to get the best banh mi in Brooklyn!

Don't hesitate to message me if you have any questions, need any help, or just want someone to talk to!

LTG Introduction

Hello everyone! My name is Maggie Cheuk and I'm serving as the Liberty Lieutenant Governor for the 2020-2021 service year! I'm a senior on the pre-med track at Hunter College and I'm majoring in biology.

This is my fourth and (maybe) last year in Circle K, so I really want to give it my all this year and serve you all as best as I can! I know most of us have met during our LOT sessions but I hope to get to know you all even better during and after quarantine!
My Current Goal
I know that we're all dealing with COVID-19 as best as we can in regards to our clubs. More than anything, I want to be able to make sure that you guys receive all the support you need from me and from the rest of the district.

With times as unsure as these, it can help to make a template for the rest of the service year! Even if you don't follow it word for word, you can use the template as a guide and a placeholder for ideas (as well as a place to "steal" ideas from your fellow clubs in Liberty!)

CHALLENGE: Fill out the service year calendar template with your E-Board! I'll go over them with each club in our first Council.
Feel free to ask me any questions you have!

Service Year Calendar Template
District Goals
These are our 2020-2021 goals for the service year:
Interclubs: 18/300
K-Family Events: 8/120
Fundraising: $2,770/$15,000
Service Hours: 895/10,000

These are this year's District Project and Governor's Project:

  • District Project: Combating COVID-19
    • COVID-19 is a novel worldwide pandemic that is expected to affect us for months to come. However, this doesn't mean that the world can wait until it's gone. Even after we the world regains a semblance of normalcy, the aftereffects of COVID-19 will be felt for awhile. This project is dedicated to supporting people impacted by COVID-19 with as many means as possible.

  • Governor's Project: Life's Basic Necessities
    • Food and water are some of life's most basic necessities – they are things that we often take for granted but there are millions of people around the world who struggle to receive these necessities. This project is dedicated to spreading awareness for those people and raising money for them to afford life's basic necessities.
Upcoming Events

Our annual CKIx International Convention, was unfortunately canceled due to the ongoing pandemic this year. However, CKIx has now become “CKI NEXT”, a free virtual conference! In addition, you get to CHOOSE what sessions you want to attend so you can choose whichever sessions best fit your schedule!

When: July 18-19, 2020
Deadline: July 6th, 2020 @ 12:00PM EST

What is CKI Next?: CKI Next is the first ever virtual CKI convention in which CKI members from all over the world can come together and participate in many leadership, fellowship, and service sessions. For those of you who know me, I'm a HUGE foodie. For those of you who don't, well, now you know! Since quarantine started, I've had a lot of free time at home and decided to spent this time baking! During these past few months, I made bread and pizza for the first time and I'm excited to try more recipes!

Tell Me About YOU
How have you been during these past few months? What do you have time for now that you didn't have time for before? Have you picked up anything new during quarantine? Hit "REPLY" and tell me a little about yourself!

I'm excited to know more about you guys 🙂

Don't hesitate to message me if you have any questions, need any help, or just want someone to talk to!
